The Brand Lab is a brand positioning program from Wit & Craft, a small studio based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This page explains what we collect when you visit branding.coach, why, and what your options are. Plain language. No tracking pixels we don’t mention here.
What we collect
When you visit branding.coach, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people read, where visitors come from, and what content lands. We use Google’s Consent Mode v2: by default, analytics runs in a cookieless, aggregate mode — meaning we see traffic counts and basic page performance, but no personal identifiers and no cookies until you opt in.
If you click Accept on the cookie banner, Google Analytics sets cookies that help us understand returning visits, attribution, and session behavior. You can change that choice at any time using the Cookies link in the footer.
What we don’t collect
- We don’t use third-party advertising trackers, retargeting pixels, or social media SDKs.
- We don’t collect names, emails, or other personal information from this site directly. The only contact path is the “Book a Strategy Call” button, which sends you to our scheduling tool (see Third Parties below).
- We don’t sell, share, or rent any data we do collect.
Cookies and storage
We use one piece of localStorage
(a key called bl_consent)
to remember whether you accepted or declined the cookie banner.
That’s it.
If you accept analytics, Google Analytics may set cookies named _ga
and _ga_K7QY57Q6PN
(Google’s session and visitor identifiers). They expire after
two years. You can clear them at any time via your browser
settings, or by clicking Decline
in the banner via the footer link.
Third parties
- Google Analytics (Google LLC, USA). Aggregated and, with consent, identified site usage. Google’s privacy policy ↗.
- Vercel (USA). We host this site on Vercel. They process server logs (IP, request data) for security and infrastructure purposes. Vercel’s privacy policy ↗.
- Calendly / scheduling tool. If you click “Book a Strategy Call” you’ll leave this site. The destination has its own privacy policy that governs anything you fill in there.
- Google Fonts. The Libre Baskerville typeface is loaded from Google’s CDN. Google receives the request as a side effect.
Your rights
If you’re visiting from the UK, EU, or any jurisdiction with comparable privacy laws (including California’s CPRA), you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you (which, for most visitors, is none).
- Withdraw your consent at any time via the Cookies link.
- Request deletion of any data we hold about you.
- Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in the UK, that’s the Information Commissioner’s Office).
Data retention
Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months by default, then automatically deleted. Server logs at Vercel are retained per their policy, typically 30 days.
International transfers
Our processors (Google, Vercel) are based in the United States. When you visit, your IP address is sent to US servers as part of normal request processing. Both companies operate under standard contractual clauses for international data transfers.
Updates
If we change what we collect or how, we’ll update this page and bump the “Last updated” date at the top.
Contact
Questions about privacy, or want your data deleted? Email hello@witandcraft.com and we’ll respond within five business days.
Note: This policy is a working template based on what the site actually does today. It is not a substitute for legal review. If The Brand Lab grows in scope (additional data collection, new third parties, or operations in regulated industries), the policy should be reviewed by counsel.
